Panthers Lose 39-6 at Armijo
October 17, 2024
The Florin Lady Panthers traveled to Armijo in Fairfield without Coach Harris. Due to being tossed from the Sheldon game the previous night, Harris could not travel or attend the game. Except for the first play, the game got out of hand and Florin lost 39-6.
The Panthers also lost any chance of a Playoff opportunity with the defeat. Unfortunately, for Florin, from here on out, the Panthers will be playing for PRIDE only.

The first play of the game, the Armijo Quarterback threw a ball right to Free Safety Zavanna Payne. The Panthers had the ball in Royal territory, but could not take advantage of the Armijo turnover and could not put any points on the board.
Armijo went on to score 39 unanswered points before the Panthers were able to score late in the second half preventing the shutout when Erin Foster scored on a 3 yard run.

The Panthers drop to 6-6 in the Greater Sacramento League Standings. With Fairfield sitting on top of the Standings, Florin needed to beat Johnson and Armijo this week in order to keep their hopes alive.
That did not happen.

The Panthers will attempt to salvage the season by finishing strong against Foothill on Tuesday, Sheldon on Wednesday and Fairfield on Thursday for Senior Night.
